Case Study of a new invoicing and dunning system for an insurance company: efficient and future-proof
Presse Release
Bad Vilbel, 4th April 2024
An innovative solution ensures greater efficiency and security in the internal services of an insurance company. With a new invoicing and dunning system, SINOVO optimises the internal processes of the insurance company and implements DORA standards at an early stage.
The insurance company, one of the leading insurance providers for students, singles and families, has commissioned SINOVO business solutions GmbH to develop a new invoicing and dunning system. The new solution enables smooth processing of internal services such as invoicing and commission accounting and already takes into account the requirements of the DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) regulation, which will become mandatory by January 2025.
Challenge: Optimisation of internal services for invoices, commissions and reminders
The insurance company, which serves over 320,000 customers, was faced with the task of modernising its internal billing and commission services, as well as its dunning process. The aim was to develop a web-based user interface that integrated debit/credit invoicing, a configurable dunning process and compliance with the DORA regulation.
Martin Drabowicz, Unit Manager at SINOVO business solutions GmbH, reports that the new system should meet the following specific requirements:
- It should include a self-billing system and an automated dunning process.
- The dunning processes should be configurable based on the different contract and billing criteria.
- A user-friendly graphical user interface was also desired to provide an overview of invoices and payment flows.
Solution: customised system development
SINOVO has developed a scalable and modular platform. This architecture enables efficient implementation and continuous updates of the individual services. Particular attention was paid to compliance with the DORA regulation, which ensures the maintenance of resilient operations in the event of major service interruptions.
The new system now offers all the desired functions:
- easy navigation and high availability,
- comprehensive search functions and analysis options,
- a separate authentication system that ensures security and scalability.
Customer benefits: greater efficiency and security
‘Thanks to the new system architecture, the internal teams at the insurance company benefit from a range of advantages,’ explains Jan Filip, Managing Director of SINOVO business solutions GmbH. ’In particular, these are
- efficient administration of large amounts of data,
- automated commission accounting and dunning processes,
- high data security through centralised security controls,
- future-proof solutions that can quickly integrate new functions and features', according to Filip.
Conclusion: future-proof processes and early DORA implementation
With the successful implementation of the new invoicing and dunning system, SINOVO has not only increased the efficiency of the insurance company's internal processes, but has also created the basis for a future-proof, DORA-compliant system landscape. The early implementation of regulatory requirements strengthens operational resilience and ensures business continuity in the long term.
